Skipping Stones

Yesterday was an amazing day! We swam at Salt Creek in the tiny town of Richmond Dale (population 300). I learned how to skip rocks, we caught crayfish and played in the small waterfall. After we went back to a friend's house until way too late and played Foosball, air hockey and pool. We laughed and laughed. One of the guys there is a mechanic. I went back today with the car and almost caught a break! The part that will fix all my problems is only $25. SCORE! But no one in town has it in stock and I need to leave Saturday morning. Hoping I can find it somewhere tomorrow 🤞              After dealing with all that today I went and visited my friend at the brewery they work at. Had some awesome food and drink and then came back to the house. I am beat. Hopefully everything works out with the car tomorrow and I can be on my way to a very very busy Saturday with stops in Hammond, Chicago, the suburbs and a wedding out in Sycamore. Looking forward to spendin

Ohio

Got into Ohio yesterday evening with new car problems. Looking into having that all taken care of by Thursday. I think I actually found the pretty part of Ohio. I am in Southern Ohio and it's actually the prettiest part of Ohio I've ever seen and I've been all over this stupid state. The drive here through Kentucky was gorgeous. Great scenery the whole way.      Tomorrow we're splashing around in a creek and hiking. I'm looking forward to that. Last night I got taken to my friends favorite dive bar for greasy gross bar food and cheap drinks. It was lovely.      Not much else to report at the moment. Ohio is pretty boring, even though I found the pretty spots.     Driving through Daniel Boone National forest on the way here Much love ❤️

Gooooose

The last two nights have been a lot of fun! Thursday night I brought my friends to their first Goose show at The Palace downtown. They are EDM kids so it wasn't really their jam but they swear they still had fun. Last night they cruised out to Nashville to see LCD Soundsystem so I met up with some friends from Chicago. We pre-gamed at a place across the street and from our patio table had a great time people watching!      Met so many great people and danced my butt off. Can't wait for the next show. Today I've been working for the most part. I accidentally found the Heigold House Facade which was on my list of places to see so that was pretty cool.      Tomorrow my friends get back and we're having dinner and then Monday morning I head to Ohio.  Much love ❤️

Louisville, KY Day 1

Day one in Louisville was a good one! I made a bunch of money and explored a whole lot. I started the day at Cave Hill Cemetery to see the graves of Muhammad Ali and Colonel Sanders. There were so many beautiful statues and monuments. Definitely one of the most beautiful cemeteries I've been to, and I've been to a lot, cause I'm a weirdo.    After the cemetery visit, I worked a bit more and then went to find postcards for the folks I agreed to send post cards to (looking at you Dave) That led me into downtown Louisville for an hour or so. I saw all of the sights to see and had the famous brown sandwich from the brown hotel. It wasn't that great...     But the staff and service there were top notch and they had a whole bowl of candy on the way out. I like this city, it's cute. There is parking everywhere and nothing is more than 10 minutes away from anywhere. According to my friend I'm staying with, the airport is 12 minute

Thanks Peoria

Took off yesterday with a good friend of mine to head to Peoria, IL. It's been a long time since I've been to actual Peoria, I'm usually just in the neighborhood for Summer Camp.      We checked into our hotel and went to find food. Ended up at Obed & Issac's Microbrewery. They are located in an old church. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the church gave the restaurant a cool vibe and I highly recommend it.      After our late lunch we went back to the hotel and took a little nap before heading to see Gov't Mule and Avett Bros. I haven't seen either band in quite some time and was really impressed with the Avett Bros. Gov't Mule was a bit of a snooze but I expected that.      We woke up early to hit the hotels breakfast buffet and now we're full and headed back to Chicago. (I'm not driving) Going to see if I can work for a bit then I'm stopping to see some Phishy friends in Indiana on my

Party Time

Had a really great long weekend! I got to spend time with some of my favorite people, see music, chill with family, celebrate a friend's wedding and eat some of the foods I've missed since I've been gone.      Tomorrow I'm headed to Peoria to see the Avett Bros with Gov't Mule and then going to go camp at the Mammoth Caves for a night before two nights of Goose in Louisville.     I might be cutting my time in Ohio a tiny bit shorter than I wanted so that I can celebrate another friend's wedding and stop back in Stockton to see a certain someone who pleases me 😉 As long as I'm in Colorado by July 10th, everything will be okay.     Much love ❤️

Thank you Stockton

Thanks Stockton, for giving me a place to clear my head these last 90 days. Headed back home for a bit and then on to Kentucky. Fortunate to have met all the new friends I've met here and can't wait to see you all again soon! Especially thankful for my girl who bought me here, listened, introduced me to all these new amazing people and has just been all around amazing. I'm so lucky to have her.      Summer of Jenn continues!      Much love ❤️

Set back

The starter on my car decided it didn't want to work anymore. A minor set back that I can hopefully get fixed tomorrow. Nothing here is open on the weekends so I've not been able to work this weekend or do much of anything. Today is a laundry and movie day. Unfortunate since I tend to make good money on cold rainy days. Hopefully this is the last of the car issues I'll see for awhile.      My plan was to head back to Chicago on Thursday but it might end up being Friday with all this nonsense. I was hoping to borrow a car today so I could at least work but my girls car isn't doing so hot either.      Much ❤️

Birthday Shenanigans & Meth Heads

My girl took me to Wisconsin yesterday to see her boyfriends band (Ten Gallon Hat) play. They played some Grateful Dead and Beatles (which was great) and a lot of country (which was not as great). A good time was had. Drank all the New Glarus beers and had some cheese curds, as one does in Wisconsin.      Today after a pretty chill day my friend found some meth heads had taken up residence in the camper she has in her driveway. They refused to leave and kept trying to get in the back door. She called an officer to come get rid of them.      An exciting day in Stockton, IL. Just over a week left here and then I'm on my way. Hoping my foot heals up a bit, walking has been difficult today.  Much love ❤️

Birthday Weekend

I am having the best day to start my birthday weekend! It started with going to a car show in Lena, IL. Had a breakfast burrito and played some Bingo. I didn't win 😢     After sweating in the hot, hot sun, we found a swimming hole and took a dip. It was nice and cool even though it was filled with seaweed.     From there I was taken to a super cool biker bar on the river to start drinking. They also have a flea market type thing rockin there and I found a small cooler for my travels for $3. Can't beat that!      We stopped and picked up a ton more vodka and now we're chillin in a pool with cocktails. So far, an absolutely amazing start to the weekend!     Pink Goose Much love ❤️

Yolo

I'm blogging drunk again, sorry mom... I stopped at a lemonade stand today. I'm all about supporting the kids. That amazing cup of lemonade was $1. Remember when it was ten to fifty cents? Inflation has hit everything! I regret nothing, it was delicious.      Drank with my girl tonight and caught up with the week, I haven't seen much of her since Scamp. When she left to see her boy, I walked down the block and went to the bar. Good times were had. Went home alone, which was okay and talked to one of my real good friends in California. Decided that after Dicks (The Phish from Vermont) I'm headed there. Maybe I won't find a place to settle any time soon. Maybe the wandering life is me.      Also spent the day talking to a real OG friend, someone I haven't talked to in almost a year (but that I've known for 30) and that brought about all the feels. The people that are real in your life never really disappear and I'm thankful for the conv
