Epic Weekend

Last night I finally got to a show at Red Rocks. It was a long time coming! Got to see Dispatch (one of my faves) and had the most magical time. I was gifted the ticket from someone on Phish Chicks and I thank her dearly for the most amazing experience.           Before heading to Red Rocks we stopped at the Denver Zoo because one of my real good friends was playing there.  The music was top notch, the zoo I wasn't real impressed with. Most of the exhibits were closed and the ones that were open the animals looked sad.    Friday night we went to a female singer song writer night which was pretty cool and then ended the night at a place called The Atrium which was a super cool place. The music was awesome and there was plenty to look at.       Tomorrow I'm hoping to meet up with a friend I met while staying in Zanesville, OH last year and Wednesday if the weather permits I'll

L-I-V-I-N

I've been enjoying the week and my time here. Monday night we went and saw the Wood Brothers at a super small venue. They were great as always. I spent the rest of the week working and hanging out with the pup. Yesterday I added another pup to the mix (just for the weekend) and that has made things a bit more chaotic.     Wednesday we went to see some music at the lyric. That place is a trip. Lots of stuff to look at the music was fantastic. It was a wonderful evening.      I was up super early this morning and got a ton done. I saw a really bad motorcycle accident that was fatal and it put me in a positive mindset for the rest of the day. I'm thankful I'm here. I'm thankful for the beauty I'm surrounded with. I'm thankful for all the love in my life.     Tonight (instead of seeing Dispatch 😢) I'm making dinner for a friend. There will be wine and pasta involved, I'm excited.  Lost a good one in the la

Camping in Dillon

What a weekend!!! It started early on Thursday night when I got to spend the evening with one of my oldest friends. Haven't seen him in a few years and we talked, listened to music, played music, cooked and watched some documentaries. It was so good to spend time with him.    Friday I worked and headed to pick another amazing human up to go celebrate his birthday with a camping trip near Dillon / Keystone        It was the most amazing weekend! I made so many new life long friends and had a blast. Saturday we spent nearly all day on the water in one way or another with a beautiful mountain backdrop. It was gorgeous. As soon as evening came we danced to the Dead South at Dillon Amphitheater.      As I was leaving camp today, my friends that were staying were screaming that I can't leave Colorado. "Jenn is a free agent now, we have to sign her!" and "I've got the sign on bonus!" Made me laugh pretty hard

One week

Today marks one week since I've been in Colorado. It is so beautiful. And hot, hahaha. In the last week I've spent time with friends I haven't seen I'm quite awhile. I've seen live music. I've been shown some of the sites. I've made new friends. And I've been loving every minute of it.      There is so much more to do! I've been slightly lazy the last couple of days because it's been so hot. My little buddy and I take a walk and I'm sweating like crazy. Today's high is 95. I've been hanging out in the AC and leaving when a good order comes up. It's nice being so close to all the stores and not having to wait in my car in parking lots.      This weekend is my friends annual birthday camping trip in Dillon and the first year I get to go. There will also be more live music and I'm super excited about it.  Much love ❤️

Colorado

I rolled into Colorado early yesterday morning and started working and familiarizing myself with Fort Collins pretty much immediately. I made a quick stop to the house I'm watching in the middle of the day and briefly met the lady of the house. She is amazing, by the way. Then went back out to work. Work is going to be just fine out here and the views make being out all day well worth it! It's amazing how good your mood can be when you wake up surrounded by sunshine and mountains!     I am very excited about the time I will be here. I'm just afraid it's going to go very fast! I decided on the way home (in September) to take the southern way. New Mexico, Oklahoma, a small bit of Texas and Missouri on the list. The way I mapped out will only add 4 hours total to my drive time and I'm assuming is going to be much better than driving through Nebraska. I have a bit of time to map out the details.     Tomorrow night I'm having tacos with some old schoo

Wyoming

It's my last night camping and I'm at a super pretty place in Wyoming. I stopped through Cheyenne first and there wasn't anything work wise and nothing else that caught my interest so I drove to the campground which is closer to Laramie. It is gorgeous.      Tomorrow I head to Fort Collins and will finally have a bed, shower, house... lol. This has been a wonderful experience but I'm looking forward to running water again. I might explore Laramie and work a bit before heading to Colorado. I've been waking up super early lately.      Can't wait to hug all my Colorado peeps and see some shows. Time to explore this place a bit more.  Much love ❤️

Badlands

I bummed around Omaha Nebraska for the better part of the morning yesterday. It's a cool city, would definitely go back.     After some ice coffee I started heading to South Dakota. Made a stop at the world's only Corn Palace. Not as impressive as I thought it would be.      The Badlands were only a few hours away and I got there with plenty of time to set up camp and have a quick dinner. The sunset was amazing and a Bison decided to come right into camp which was pretty cool.            I went to Wall Drug this morning and got coffee, ice, another gallon of water and some gifts for people. I also sent out my postcards I've been sending.      The bugs are awful but with so much natural beauty I suppose it's only a minor inconvenience. I'm exploring all of the Badlands today and tomorrow morning on my way to Wyoming I will stop at Mount Rushmore (because it's on the way). In camping (and

Nebraska

I started my trek to Colorado today. I'm taking my sweet time getting there and tonight I'm camping in Nebraska. I started the drive at 9:30am after telling my two closest people in Stockton that I needed an easy night because of the day I was going to have today.      Neither of them listened to me as it was my last night there. This is what I came home to after work...    We drank and giggled until 2:00am and then the boy kept me up a bit later 😉 Made the almost 6 hour drive on a few hours of sleep. I stopped for breakfast since I didn't eat yesterday. She was in the process of grilling us steaks and the dog ate all of them when we had our backs turned for a minute.      I got to the place I'm camping while it was raining. I set up camp in the rain and I made a fire in the rain. It stopped long enough for me to make dinner (enchiladas and Mexican rice). It was delicious. With plenty left over to heat up tomorrow.

Ready to Rock!

I cruised into Chicago last Thursday with pretty much no brakes. Went straight to my girls house and partied a little too hard with some of my favorite people and then woke up super hungover ready to deal with the car issues.      It's been one problem after another with that car and finally yesterday one of my mechanic friends told me it was time to drive it off a cliff. So after a couple of days in my mom's basement (the irony wasn't lost on me) today I'm ready to go west with a new ride. So very thankful for all the help I've received this week.      Tonight I'm headed to Stockton again to finally get some good loving and Thursday or Friday I will head to South Dakota.      Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th Much love ❤️
