312 on a slow day

It's been a super slow day for work today so I've been doing some exploring. First I went and cleared my head for a bit in nature. That always helps bring me some peace and it was a beautiful day for it.

    Wetlands Preserve in Freeport, IL

After that I went and saw the site of the 1858 Lincoln / Douglas debate. I'm a sucker for historical sites.

All that exploring and waiting for any kind of work, had me hungry. For lunch I found a place called 312 Beef and Sausage and was super excited that I may have found a piece of Chicago out here. I immediately stopped for a beef and it honestly wasn't worth the stop. I've been spoiled by food in Chicago my whole life. They tried, they really tried but it was disappointing.

Tomorrow I'm back in Dubuque, IA Going to work, do laundry and explore some of the Mississippi River.

Finished Firefly Lane on Netflix last night and had a good cry, my goodness. Highly recommend if you haven't watched it yet.

Much Love ❤️

Summer of Jenn 2

Started off Summer of Jenn 2 with a short trip to one of my favorite venues to see one of my favorite bands (moe.) play an amazing show with some amazing friends!      I was going to take a quick disco nap and head straight from Dillon to Chicago but my car has been burning oil and my roommate insisted I get it fixed before I drive across the country. $600 later and I was told to just get a new car. Thanks... I guess I got new spark plugs too but I could've done that myself.      I'm a day behind on travel so I decided to do the drive over night. Haven't really done that before, I usually leave around 2am. Wish me luck!  Much love ❤️

A little Phish

Spent a weekend at Deer Creek with so many friends! A great time was had and I'm looking forward to this weekend in Bethel, even if it's going to be a wet one!      After Phish I ended up in Ohio for a few days. Spent a lot of time outside and laughing with some of my favorites. Tomorrow I'm back on the road again. I'll be crossing off another state from my list, working, camping and checking things out. I made sure to give myself plenty of time for all of that in-between shows.  Much love ❤️

Thank you Ft. Collins

Today was my last full day in Fort Collins for awhile. Tonight is my last night in the place I've called home for the summer. It's been so amazing I'm grabbing my stuff and coming back to stay! It is glorious waking up with mountains daily, not having traffic and being able to make money here.      I started this journey (the summer of Jenn) because after everything went to shit I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do or where I wanted to be. The last two months have given me everything I've been searching for. I have friends that are like family (that I've known for over 15 years) and new friends that will be like family close by. I am sold!      I worked a little today and like every Tuesday I've ever worked anywhere (except for Freeport, IL for some reason) it was super slow. I came home and gathered the rest of the things going with me for the next leg of my journey and cleaned my spaces. There will be someone else staying here...
